Thoughtful shot-making in Tangerang
Course Overview
Modern Golf & Country Club offers an 18-hole, par-72 layout in Tangerang, west of Jakarta. Its resort-style surroundings make it a comfortable setting for a private round with friends or colleagues.
Reputation & Tournament Background
Modern’s strongest distinction is its Peter Thomson design: the five-time Open Champion created a course where individual holes present different decisions and challenges. Its golf, sports and event facilities also make it a setting for corporate outings and organised group golf.
Course Design & Tee Distances
Undulating fairways, bright sand bunkers and water hazards create distinct challenges from hole to hole. There is room to play from the tee, but approaches can narrow considerably. The course rewards choosing a sensible landing area and planning the next shot.
The club’s official website describes a 6,350-metre course. Please refer to the current club scorecard for individual tee distances.
Course Highlights
- Each hole has its own character and a different strategic task.
- Long fairways, lakes and white sand bunkers shape the route to the green.
- Open driving areas are balanced by tighter approaches and protected greens.
- Varied par threes and par fives provide interest for different playing abilities.
Caddie Service
A local caddie can help with understanding the different character of each hole, selecting landing areas and reading the greens. This course knowledge is especially useful for a first visit.
Caddie fees are included in the golf day-tour rate; caddie tips are separate. Tell us if you need language assistance so we can check availability. A current total caddie headcount has not been confirmed.
Turf & Course Maintenance
Fairway presentation, bunker upkeep and green preparation are important to Modern’s strategic design. Actual firmness and putting speed vary with weather and maintenance. The club’s available official information does not confirm the turf varieties, so no specific grass species is stated here.
Facilities & Services
- Clubhouse lobby, restaurant and lounge
- Indoor and outdoor driving-range facilities
- Chipping green, practice bunker and putting green
- Pro shop and men’s and women’s locker rooms
- Hot and cold plunge pools and sauna
- Sports-club facilities and bungalow accommodation
Accommodation, leisure facilities, rentals and other extras are not automatically included in the day-tour rate. Availability and charges are confirmed separately.
