Sample itinerary
- Hotel or Gili meetingMeet your guide at the hotel for a Senggigi departure, or at the agreed Gili pier.
- Equipment and boatPrepare your gear, board the dive boat and receive a briefing on equipment and breathing.
- First guided diveDive at a site selected by the PADI instructor or dive master for the sea conditions.
- Island breakStop for lunch and rest on a Gili island; lunch is paid separately.
- Second guided diveExplore another dive point, return to the pier, and transfer back to the hotel if departing from Lombok.
Allow around 6–8 hours from Senggigi or 4–6 hours from the Gili Islands. The dive school sets the schedule and sites.
Detailed tour itinerary
Senggigi departure · 6–8 hours
08:00 · Hotel / resort lobby meeting
Meet your local or English-speaking guide. Your exact pickup time will be confirmed before the tour.
Continue to the dive shop, prepare your equipment and travel in the dive shop’s vehicle to Teluk Nare Harbour.
Gili departure · 4–6 hours
10:00 · Public pier meeting
Meet at the agreed public pier on the Gili Islands and join the dive boat for the day’s diving programme.
Board the dive boat
Board the dive school’s boat and head towards the Gili dive sites.
Introductory dives usually take place at Meno Wall near Gili Meno or Reef Wall near Gili Air. Your dive team selects the actual sites according to conditions.
Equipment briefing and basic training
The boat journey to the dive site takes approximately 20 minutes. During the journey, the dive team explains how to use the equipment and introduces the basic diving procedures.
The key is relaxed, steady breathing: breathe in slowly and breathe out slowly, following your instructor’s guidance.
Your local or English-speaking guide assists with communication. Put on your equipment and complete the final checks with the dive team before entering the water.
First guided introductory dive
Begin your underwater experience with the PADI instructor or dive master and explore the marine scenery around the Gili Islands.
Island lunch and rest
After your first dive, head to a Gili island for lunch and a relaxing break. Lunch is paid separately.
Second guided introductory dive
Return to the boat for your second guided dive. As you become more comfortable with the equipment, you may notice details of the underwater world that you missed on your first dive.
Return to the harbour
After the second dive, the boat returns to the pier.
Senggigi departure: Take the dive shop’s vehicle back to your hotel or resort.
Gili departure: Your tour ends on return to the pier.

What to bring
- Swimwear or clothing suitable for swimming; changing facilities on the Gili Islands may be limited
