Golf in the Merapi foothills
The source dates the course to 1994 and places it around 800 metres above sea level. The club’s own information describes an 18-hole par-72 course designed by Thomson, Wolveridge and Perrett. Mountain visibility depends on weather; cooler elevation does not guarantee a clear view or a rain-free round.
Design and playing conditions
The original guide emphasises mature trees, changes in elevation, generous fairways and strategic hazards. It describes a round shaped by both terrain and scenery. Use the current scorecard and caddie’s advice for hole distances and hazards rather than treating the old narrative as a live hole-by-hole guide.
Distances and booking details
The archive lists Blue 6,319 m, White 5,805 m and Red 5,202 m, while the club’s own overview gives an overall 6,370 m. Confirm the tees in use and current scorecard. Ask about weather and access conditions, maintenance, caddies, carts, rentals, practice areas and what the price includes before payment.
