At a glance
Forest paths and temple surroundings
The original visit crosses a bridge and passes through a tunnel-like section before reaching areas with monkeys. The appeal is the combination of a leafy forest walk and a religious landscape, rather than simply a chance to photograph animals. The source describes three Hindu temples within the sanctuary.
Watch the monkeys without disturbing them
Secure loose belongings such as sunglasses, keep food packed away and follow sanctuary staff instructions. The original guide specifically advises against direct eye contact, touching young monkeys and offering outside food. Give animals space and do not try to retrieve an item from a monkey yourself; ask a staff member for help.
Allow time for the walk
Paths, bridges and shaded corners provide plenty to see beyond the busiest entrance area. The population and tree counts in the old source describe that period and are not presented as current totals. Check the sanctuary’s current hours, ticket categories and visitor guidance before travelling.
Current visitor information
The sanctuary’s official visitor page lists 09:00–18:00, with last entrance at 17:00, and adult / child admission of IDR 130,000 / IDR 100,000 when checked for this guide. These replace the older hours and fare in the source. Check the official page again before travel for changes.
